This is the month to plant spring-flowering bulbs like tulips, narcissus, and crocus for a great show next spring.  They are the most carefree of plants – simply plant and wait for spring. Bulbs can also be planted in containers – a good idea where deer are a nuisance.  Layer the bulbs in a large container (plant them on top of one another in layers) for a spectacular display from early to late spring.
